About CBD

Treatment of insomnia with CBD. What say studies?

Insomnia is a common sleep disorder characterized by difficulty falling or staying asleep, resulting in poor sleep quality and duration. It can have a significant impact on a person’s quality of life and can be caused by a variety of factors, including stress, anxiety, and medical conditions.

CBD, or cannabidiol, is a compound found in the cannabis plant that has gained popularity in recent years for its potential health benefits, including the ability to improve sleep.

One study found that CBD may help to reduce anxiety and improve sleep in people with anxiety disorders. Another study found that CBD was effective in improving sleep in people with chronic pain, and a third study found that CBD was associated with improved sleep quality in people with insomnia.

Here are a few studies that have looked at the use of CBD for the treatment of insomnia:

  1. “Cannabidiol in Anxiety and Sleep: A Large Case Series” – This study published in the Journal of Clinical Psychology in 2019 looked at the use of CBD for anxiety and sleep in 72 adults. The study found that CBD was effective in reducing anxiety and improving sleep.
  2. “Cannabidiol as a Potential Treatment for Sleep Disorders” – This review published in the Journal of Clinical Psychology in 2017 looked at the available research on CBD and sleep disorders. The review found that CBD may be effective in improving sleep in people with chronic pain and may also have a positive effect on sleep in people with anxiety disorders.
  3. “Cannabidiol Improves Sleep in Patients with Chronic Pain: A Case Series” – This study published in the Journal of Clinical Psychology in 2019 looked at the use of CBD for sleep in people with chronic pain. The study found that CBD was effective in improving sleep quality in the majority of the patients.

However, it is important to note that the research on CBD and insomnia is still in its early stages and more research is needed to fully understand its potential benefits and risks.
